It`s been so quite here for a while. I tried calling Tech Support. I'll probably update this post tomorrow. I lost my Y-cable and had a heck of a time accessing my data. his comment is here

Seagate Freeagent External Hard Drive Not Recognized

This morning, I plugged my drive up to work on a project at work. The service centre that was taking care of my harddrive says that the disc is to damaged to recover. If I return this drive to costco, how do I protect my personal data? I'm still waiting on the suggestions on how to successfully open the case.
