If it still does not work, try changing your PC screen resolution down by one notch and press Apply. It did it today. I'm using Vista OS, Acer laptop and Hitachi TV. It detects it as a plug&play monitor now (instead of a generic monitor) and only shows the supported modes.

As I thought it uses 5 pins only (plus ground on the casing)In some of the forums people suggested that the TV needs one / or some of the other pins Your PC will support High Definition2 even over VGA.
