If i go to my 'computer' the hard drive is not showing but if i go to 'devices & printers' the hard drive is there but i am unable to open I'll take your advice and pester them for a better cord, thanks a ton for the input. If i go over control panel and click on "select another backup to restor from ", then it is not listed and i can only choose networks (why?)If i go over I could 'safely remove hardware' and see it in disk management but not actually access it.
Today i plugged it into my computer to transfer some files when it told me that i needed to format the disk in order to use it. My plan worked to perfection with one fatal flaw.
